Defining Exceptions Flows

  1. Open the Load Plan Editor:
    • Navigate to the Exceptions tab in the Load Plan Editor.
  2. Create an Exception Step:
    • You can create an exception step in two ways:
      • Add Step Wizard:
        • In the Load Plan Editor toolbar, select Add Step > Add Step Wizard.
        • Choose Exception from the Step Type list and click Next.
        • Enter a name for the exception step in the Step Name field and click Finish.
      • Quick Step Tool:
        • Select Add Step > Exception Step from the Load Plan Editor toolbar.
        • The exception step is created with the default name “Exception,” which can be modified in the Steps Hierarchy table or Property Inspector.
  3. Understand the Hierarchy:
    • The Exceptions tab contains a hierarchy of steps, but there is no root step in the exception step hierarchy.
    • Each exception step is treated as a separate root step in the hierarchy.
  4. Define Exception Flows:
    • After creating the exception step, define the exception flow by adding and organizing the steps under this exception step.
    • The Serial, Parallel, Run Scenario, and Case steps behave the same way as on the Steps tab but without an Exception Handling properties group.
    • Note: An exception step that errors out cannot raise another exception step.
  5. Configure the Exception Step:
    • You can add new steps to the exception flow and organize them hierarchically as needed.
    • Modify the exception step's name and properties as required.

By following these steps, you can define a structured exception flow for your Load Plan to handle errors and ensure appropriate actions are taken when steps fail.
