Generating a Group of Scenarios
- Select
the Project or Folder:
- In
Designer Navigator, select the Project or Folder
that contains the group of objects (packages, mappings, procedures, and
variables) for which you want to generate the scenarios.
- Right-click
and Select Generate All Scenarios:
- Right-click
on the selected Project or Folder.
- Choose
Generate All Scenarios... from the context menu.
- Select
Object Types:
- In
the Scenario Source Objects section, select the types of objects
(e.g., packages, mappings, procedures, or variables) for which you want
to generate scenarios.
- Apply
Marker Filter (Optional):
- In
the Marker Filter section, you can filter the components to generate
based on a marker from a marker group (optional).
- Select
the Scenario Generation Mode: Choose one of the following modes for scenario
generation:
- Replace:
- Overwrites
each object’s last scenario version with a new one having the same internal
ID, name, and version.
- Sessions,
scenario reports,
and schedules are deleted.
- If
no scenario exists for an object, a scenario with version 001 is
created.
- Re-generate:
- Overwrites
each object’s last scenario version, preserving the schedule, sessions,
scenario reports, variable selections, and concurrent
execution control settings.
- If
no scenario exists for an object, no scenario is created.
- Creation:
- Creates
a new scenario for each object with the same name as the last scenario
version, but with an automatically incremented version number.
- If
no scenario exists for an object, a scenario named after the object with
version 001 is created.
- Scenario
Naming Convention:
- New
scenarios are named based on the component following the Scenario
Naming Convention user parameter.
- You
can set the naming convention by clicking Preferences from the Tools
menu.
- Expand
the ODI node, then the System node, and select the Scenarios
node.
- Generation
Mode Details:
- If
the Creation generation mode is selected, the version number will
be automatically incremented, or set to 001 if no prior numeric
version exists.
- You
can select the Generate scenario as if all underlying objects are
materialized option if you want to generate the scenario as though
the shortcuts were actual objects.
- Click
OK:
- After
making your selections, click OK to begin the scenario generation
process.
- Define
Scenario Variables (Optional):
- If
your scenarios use variables, you can define them in the Scenario
Variables dialog:
- Use
All:
Makes all variables parameters for the scenario.
- Use
Selected:
Allows you to choose specific variables as parameters.
