Introduction to the Load Plan Editor

  1. Overview of the Load Plan Editor
    • The Load Plan Editor provides a unified environment for designing and managing Load Plans.
    • It is used to add, edit, and organize steps in a Load Plan.
    • The Steps Tab is where you interact with the Steps Hierarchy Table, which defines the order and structure of steps in the Load Plan.
  2. Steps Hierarchy Table
    • This table represents the organization of steps within the Load Plan.
    • Each row in the table corresponds to a step and displays its main properties, including:
      • Step type.
      • Execution order.
      • Any dependencies or child steps.
    • The hierarchy of steps is visually structured to help understand the execution flow.
  3. Adding Steps to a Load Plan
    • Drag-and-Drop: You can drag components such as packages, integration mappings, variables, procedures, or scenarios from the Designer Navigator into the Steps Hierarchy table. This creates Run Scenario steps for these components.
    • Add Step Wizard: Use the Add Step Wizard to easily add steps to the Load Plan.
    • Quick Step Tool: This tool helps you quickly add pre-defined steps to the Load Plan.
  4. Using the Load Plan Editor Toolbar
The toolbar, located above the Steps Hierarchy table, contains several tools for creating, organizing, and sequencing steps. Here’s a breakdown of the icons:
    • Search Icon: This tool allows you to search for specific steps in the Steps Hierarchy table.
    • Expand All Icon: Expands all tree nodes in the Steps Hierarchy table, displaying all steps and child steps.
    • Collapse All Icon: Collapses all tree nodes in the Steps Hierarchy table, hiding child steps for easier navigation.
    • Add Step Icon: Opens a menu where you can choose to add a step using either the Add Step Wizard or the Quick Step tool.
    • Remove Step Icon: Removes the selected step and all its child steps from the Load Plan.
    • Reorder Arrows: Move steps within the hierarchy. You can:
      • Move Up: Move the selected step up in the hierarchy.
      • Move Down: Move the selected step down in the hierarchy.
      • Move Out: Move the selected step out of its parent step (to a higher level).
      • Move In: Move the selected step into a parent step (to a lower level).
  5. Properties Panel
    • The Properties Panel, located below the Steps Hierarchy table, displays the properties of the currently selected step.
    • You can use this panel to modify the properties of individual steps, such as their name, description, or execution settings..
