- Definition of Connectors:
- Connectors create the flow of data between mapping components in ODI.
- Most components have both input and output connectors.
- Source and Target Datastores:
- Datastores with only output connectors are considered sources.
- Datastores with only input connectors are considered targets.
- Multiple Input/Output Connectors:
- Some components support multiple input or output connectors.
- For example, the split component can have two or more output connectors, allowing data to be split into multiple downstream flows.
- Connector Points:
- Connector points define the connections between components inside a mapping.
- A connector point is a single pathway for either input or output for a component.
- Connector Ports:
- Connector ports are small circles located on the left and/or right sides of components in the mapping diagram.
- These ports are where the connectors are attached to each component.
- Mapping Diagram Representation:
- In the mapping diagram, two components are connected by a single visible line between their connector ports.
- Even if there are multiple connector points, the diagram shows only a single line to represent all the connections.
- Viewing Connector Details:
- You can select the line connecting components in the mapping diagram to view more details about the connection.
- The property inspector displays the specifics of the connection when selected.
