Master Repository

Master Repository Overview

  1. Purpose:
    • Contains information about the topology of IT resources.
    • Includes security information and version management for projects and data models.
    • Stored in a relational database accessible in client/server mode through Oracle Data Integrator modules.
  2. General Setup:
    • Typically, you only need one master repository.
    • This single repository manages all related information for your system's operations.

When Multiple Master Repositories Are Needed

  1. Multiple Repositories May Be Required in These Cases:
    • Project Construction Over Several Sites:
      • When development is done on different sites not connected by a high-speed network (e.g., off-site development).
    • Separation of Operating Environments:
      • When there is a need to distinctly separate environments such as:
        • Development
        • Test
        • Production
      • This may apply if these environments are located on different sites and need clear distinction.
