Physical Mapping Design

1. Display Physical Mapping Design:
• To view the physical mapping design, click the background or select the white tab labeled "Physical Mapping Design."
• This will open the physical mapping properties.
2. Staging Location (Default Setup):
• By default, the staging location is colocated on the target. This means the staging area is located on the same server or host as the target.
3. Changing the Staging Location:
• You can explicitly select a different staging location. This will prompt ODI (Oracle Data Integrator) to automatically move the staging area to another host, if needed.
4. Defining Additional Physical Mapping Designs:
• To add more physical mapping designs, click the small tab located at the bottom of the physical diagram, adjacent to the current physical mapping design tab.
5. Automatic Creation of New Physical Mapping:
• A new physical mapping design will be automatically created based on the logical design of the current mapping. This ensures the physical design corresponds to the logical one.

This flow helps set up and modify physical mappings within your project effectively.
